How to Bind the DJI RC with Other DJI Drones

DJI upgraded its standard remote controllers to the DJI RC, giving pilots a complete experience with an incredible, bright, FHD display that allows users to fly their drones without needing a smartphone connection for FPV views.

It was designed to deliver an exceptional operating experience for DJI drones, featuring a lightweight body weighing only 390 grams. It has a built-in antenna and an ultra-long battery life of up to four hours for extended flight time. The 5.5-inch full-HD screen offers continuous high brightness of up to 700 nits, providing a clear display for effortless use at night or during the day.

The DJI RC also has new dual-spring control sticks for more comfortable flying and precise control over the drone’s movements, and supports the advanced DJI O3+ video transmission technology. The DJI O3+ transmission technology features upgraded dual antennas, supporting FHD video transmission at distances of up to 12 km, making it easy and convenient to share aerial views even in complex environments with a resolution of 1080p/60fps (note that the DJI RC will automatically switch to the transmission technology of the paired drone).

The DJI RC pairs with the Mavic 3, however, DJI has also made it compatible with other drones, including the Mini 3 Pro and the DJI Air 2S.  Binding the RC to other drones is simple and straightforward—all you have to do is follow the instructions below and proceed to connect the drone by following the prompts on the screen.

First, turn on both the drone and the DJI RC. Before you turn on the drone it’s important to remove the gimbal cover so you don’t damage the gimbal itself. Next, find the connection guide button on the screen—it should populate a menu with all compatible devices.

Select the drone you want to pair with the DJI RC and begin following all prompts. Make sure you update all firmware if there is a pending update–this is important because you don’t want there to be any issues with the drone connection or functionality. If the drone you are using has an FPV camera, make sure the view comes through clearly on the DJI RC.
