DJI keeps boosting the Mavic 3’s capabilities—shortly after adding the Mavic 3 Classic to the series, DJI released a new firmware update that unlocks several new features.
Pilots can now access cruise control, night mode, Remote ID (critical for US pilots), and support for European pilots with the EU C1 certification. The cruise control functionality is great for pilots that are flying continuously, reducing the need to constantly hit the control sticks on the RC. It makes flying smoother, helping pilots capture steady video and reduce shakes. In order to enable Cruise Control, users will need to set one of the customizable buttons of the remote controller to the appropriate setting. It’s important to note that the maximum flight speed, brake sensitivity, and other settings can be adjusted in different flight modes.
The night mode can now be used while recording video and supports 4K 30fps and ISO 800 to 12800. Users will see a difference in the color of their footage, with more vivid colors despite flying in low light conditions.
While this firmware update has unlocked some powerful features, audiences are still waiting for DJI to enable waypoints and SDK.
